The competence you will be developing is Futures literacy: To envision alternative sustainable futures by imagining and developing alternative scenarios and identifying the steps needed to achieve a preferred sustainable future

With this activity you will develop the ability to imagine and anticipate different environmental futures for your city, fostering creativity and strategic thinking to promote sustainability.

Task no.1
Evidence verified by: one activity organiser
Think about the three following scenarios on how will your city’s environment look in 2050. You should consider aspects like air quality, green spaces, energy sources, waste management, and biodiversity.

Optimistic Future: A green, sustainable city with clean energy, zero waste, and abundant nature.
Pessimistic Future: A polluted, resource-depleted city struggling with climate change consequences.
Unexpected Future: A surprising or innovative scenario where technology, policies, or community action shape a new environmental reality.

For complete the activity tou have to summarize your three future scenarios in a short text (200-300 words), and answer the following questions:

-What actions can be taken today to ensure a sustainable future?
-What current environmental trends or warning signs could lead to one of these futures?
-How can individuals and communities contribute to a greener future?
