Performance and Role Play

How does temporarily transitioning into alternate ways of being enable your imagination?
In this task, you will explore performance as something that extends beyond the stage into everyday life. When do you notice yourself “performing” different roles—at home, at work, or in public? How do these roles shape the way you act, and how aware are you of them?

You will reflect on how participatory performance and role play create spaces for experimentation and learning. When have you tried out a different way of being in a safe or creative setting? What did that experience allow you to see or feel differently?

This task also invites you to consider embodied learning. How might movement, sound, or physical expression help you understand ideas or perspectives in ways that words cannot? What happens when you learn through doing rather than observing? As you engage with these ideas, think about performance as a space for reflection and change. How might role play help you question assumptions, explore difference, and imagine new ways of relating to others in shared social life?

Worldbuilding and Workshopping

How might worldbuilding and workshopping transform you and your relationships, and sustain collective vibrancy and enthusiasm?
In this task, you will explore workshopping as a collaborative and imaginative process at the heart of participatory arts. When you take part in group creative activities, what matters more to you—the final outcome or the experience of creating together? How do playful, low-risk environments affect your willingness to experiment and share ideas?

You will reflect on how workshops build both artistic work and social connection. When have you felt a sense of belonging through shared creative activity? How do groups balance inclusion, trust, and innovation when working together?

This task also invites you to consider worldbuilding as a form of collective creativity. What might it mean to imagine not just new stories, but new ways of living, relating, and organising society? How does shifting focus from individuals to relationships and systems change your thinking? As you engage with these ideas, think about how workshopping and digital worldbuilding create spaces for shared meaning-making. What possibilities do these environments open for participation, creativity, and cultural democracy?

Deliberative Transensus

How could alternate ways of being enable you to empathise, understand, and dialogue?
In this task, you will explore transensus as a way of understanding creative participation beyond agreement or disagreement. When you collaborate with others, do you aim to reach a clear outcome, or are you open to uncertainty and possibility? What happens when you stay with difference rather than trying to resolve it?

You will reflect on how participatory arts create temporary spaces where people can explore new ways of being and relating. When have you experienced a moment of shared creativity that changed how you saw yourself or others? How do embodied, emotional responses shape collaboration?

This task also invites you to consider the role of “vibes” and "shared feeling" in group dynamics. How do atmosphere, tone, and presence influence whether a space feels open, safe, or connected? As you engage with these ideas, think about democracy as an ongoing process of exploration. What might it mean to value possibility, imagination, and multiple perspectives in how we create, relate, and live together?
