Skills Lab – Discover Your Skills

My Skills

By earning this badge, you show that you can recognise and explain soft skills that you have developed through your own experiences. You understand that skills can be gained not only through school or work, but also through volunteering, sport, hobbies, youth activities and other experiences in your life.

You have identified at least five soft skills that you recognise in yourself and connected each one to a real experience that shows where and how you developed or demonstrated it. This means that you are starting to turn your experiences into skills that you can communicate to others, including future employers.

Uzdevumi
Task no.1
Evidence verified by: one activity organiser
Task — My Skills: What Have I Learned from My Experiences?
To earn this badge, identify five soft skills that you recognise in yourself and connect each skill to a real experience from your life.

For each soft skill, reflect on:
  • What is the skill? - Name the soft skill you have identified.
  • Where did I develop or demonstrate it? - Think about a real experience — for example, at school, in VET, volunteering, sport, a hobby, a youth activity, a project, at home or in another situation.
  • What did I actually do? - Briefly describe what happened and what you did.
  • How does this experience show the skill? - Explain how your actions helped you develop or demonstrate this skill.

Example:
Skill: Teamwork
Experience: Playing on a basketball team
What I did: I trained regularly with the same team, communicated with other players and worked with them towards common goals.
How this shows the skill: I learned how to cooperate with different people, contribute to a team and support others even when we disagreed.

Evidence: Upload your completed “My Skills Map”, including at least five soft skills and a real experience demonstrating each one.

Your evidence will be reviewed by a mentor or educator.
The mentor is not assessing whether you have the “right” soft skills. Everyone has different experiences and strengths. The purpose of the assessment is to check whether you can identify a soft skill and connect it clearly to a real experience that demonstrates it.

To receive the badge, your evidence should show that:
  • You have identified at least five soft skills.
  • You can correctly name and understand each skill.
  • You have connected each skill to a real experience or situation.
  • You have explained what you actually did in that situation.
  • Your example provides reasonable evidence that you developed or demonstrated the identified skill.
  • Your reflection is personal and based on your own experiences.

Once your mentor confirms that your five skills are supported by clear examples in the “My Skills Map”, your evidence can be approved and you can earn the badge.
