This badge recognises an ESC volunteer who participates actively and responsibly in the local community.
The badge holder knows how social, economic, legal and political issues can affect people’s lives, and understands the importance of participation, sustainability and inclusion. They are able to identify local needs, engage with others respectfully and contribute to civic and social life. They understand social norms and know how to follow them and adapt to the local culture and customs.
This badge is connected to the following Youthpass competence: Citizenship competence.

Take part in a local community activity or initiative during your volunteering experience. It can be an event organised by InCo, a collaboration with a local association, a youth activity or another initiative that involves the community.
During the activity, pay attention to your role and contribution:

Who did you interact with?
What was the aim of the activity?
How did your contribution support the group or community?
Upload a photo and a short text or audio reflection describing your role and what you learned about participating in the local community.
