Participation as Subjectification

What is participation to you, and why do you do it?
In this task, you will explore participation as a central part of democracy and cultural life. What does it mean for you to truly choose to take part in something—and to feel free not to? When you participate, what are you risking, and what helps you feel safe enough to contribute more of yourself?

You will reflect on different motivations for participation. When have you taken part to fit in, and when have you participated to be recognised? How did these experiences shape your sense of belonging or visibility? What might be missing in these forms of participation?

This task also invites you to consider a deeper kind of participation. When have you had the opportunity to influence decisions or shape outcomes with others? How might participation become a space for questioning, imagining, and creating new possibilities together? As you engage with these ideas, think about participation as an ethical, creative act. How do your choices affect others, and what kind of shared world are you helping to build?

Creativity

How do you experience being imaginative?
In this task, you will explore creativity as something everyone can take part in, not just a talent for a few. When have you experienced creativity in your own life—through art, conversation, problem-solving, or everyday imagination? What did that moment allow you to see or feel differently?

You will reflect on how creative activities help people imagine new possibilities for themselves and the world around them. When you create, are you following patterns or discovering something new? How do small moments of insight or experimentation shape your sense of who you are becoming?

This task also invites you to think about creativity as part of shared life. When have creative experiences helped you connect with others or understand different perspectives? What role should education and communities play in making creativity possible for everyone? As you engage with these ideas, consider creativity as a way of participating in the world. How might your own creative actions contribute to shaping more inclusive, imaginative, and connected futures?

Creativity as Connection

How might you value your creative expressions and experience transformation through them?
In this task, you will explore creativity as a shared, relational process rather than something owned by a few or measured by outcomes. When have you experienced creativity as something new for you, rather than for others? What helped you take risks, experiment, or think differently?

You will reflect on the conditions that support creativity. When do you feel safe enough to share ideas without fear of judgment? How do environments—people, spaces, materials, or mood—shape your ability to create?

This task also invites you to consider creativity as something collective and ethical. When have creative moments helped you connect with others, listen differently, or build something together? How might creativity contribute to fairness, inclusion, or shared problem-solving? As you engage with these ideas, think about creativity as something embedded in relationships with people, places, and the wider world. What might it mean to practise creativity in ways that support not only human expression, but also more sustainable and connected ways of living?
