This activity helps you explore how to follow up, document, and evaluate the impact of art-based civic education.You will learn creative and participatory ways to capture change — in attitudes, skills, and civic engagement — while respecting the emotional and personal dimensions of learning through art.Together, we will look at how transformation can be observed, recorded, and celebrated over time.

This activity is linked to Chapter 6 of the CivicART Guidebook: “Follow-Up and Evaluation.”

1. Read Chapter 6 or explore its summary and visual tools.
2. Reflect on the following:
How do you currently track the outcomes of your educational or creative projects?
What types of change are most visible — and which remain hidden but meaningful?
How might art itself become a method of evaluation?
3. Choose one of the following approaches to experiment with:
Create a “Then and Now” artistic reflection (drawing, collage, video, or poem) that shows your personal or participants’ transformation.
Map a baseline and follow-up for one of your projects (e.g. confidence, belonging, civic engagement).
Design a simple evaluation framework for a future art-based activity, combining qualitative and creative tools.
4. Share with us a result of your experiment!
