You have completed your first expedition at São Bento and proved that you have what it takes to continue D. Pedro’s mission.
But the heart still has a long journey ahead.
Your next destination takes you uphill, towards one of the oldest, most fortified and historically significant areas of Porto: the Sé Neighbourhood.
As Knights carrying D. Pedro IV’s precious heart through the city, your team must explore the area around Porto Cathedral and successfully complete 4 new challenges. Here, observation, orientation and teamwork will be essential.
Complete all four challenges and submit the required evidence to unlock the Knight of Sé Badge — bringing you one step closer to discovering where D. Pedro’s heart truly belongs.
Discover the Sé Neighbourhood
Standing on high ground overlooking the city, the Sé area has represented protection, refuge, faith and hope throughout centuries of Porto’s history.
Its defensive position, walls and views over the surrounding areas made it one of the city’s most strategic locations.
During the Siege of Porto, this area became closely associated with the resistance of D. Pedro IV’s Liberal forces and the people of Porto.
Protected by its elevated position and surrounded by a community determined to resist, the Sé Neighbourhood became another important part of the story of the Invicta City.
For that reason, D. Pedro’s heart cannot continue its journey without passing through this historic place.
But history will not reveal itself easily. You will have to find it.
Challenge 1 — Hidden in Plain Sight
The Sé area was once protected by medieval defensive walls.
Although much has changed over the centuries, part of Porto’s old fortifications can still be found near the entrance to the Sé area — almost hidden in plain sight.
Your challenge is to find it.
What is the Portuguese name of this historical structure?
Record your answer as your first piece of evidence.

Challenge 2 — Protector of the City
Built on one of the highest points of Porto, Porto Cathedral — Sé do Porto — is one of the city’s most important religious buildings.
Its imposing exterior even resembles a fortress, reminding visitors of the defensive importance of this part of the city.

Inside the Cathedral, you can find an image of the Patroness and protector of Porto, whose presence is also linked to the city's identity and symbols.
Your challenge: Who is this Saint?
Find the answer inside, or if the Cathedral is closed, maybe you can ask around... and record her name.

Challenge 3 — Survival in the Invicta City
Surviving a siege required many things: water, food, strength, courage, faith… and perhaps a good dose of wine!
Now it is time to explore the streets surrounding the Cathedral.
Find Taberna da Sé, a traditional small tavern hidden within the neighbourhood.
It may look simple, but there is something unusual about it: the tavern can be accessed from two different streets.
Your challenge is to discover: What is the official address of Taberna da Sé?
Record the complete address as your third piece of evidence.

Challenge 4 — The Lost Gate
Your journey now begins to take you downhill.
As you leave the Sé area, search for the place connected to one of the historical entrances to the fortified city: the Gate of Sant’Ana, which once provided access towards the riverside and Porto’s commercial areas.
Some traces and memories of this old gateway remain in the neighbourhood.
Your final challenge is: Find the Saint associated with this place and take a photograph of it.
Keep the photograph as evidence of your discovery.
