When it comes to Easter traditions and games around the world the list might be never ending. So we will share some of them in this activity and we would like to invite you to share your Easter traditions in the badge task.

  • Holy Thursday and cleansing rituals. In the old days, the bathhouses were heated and, for those near bodies of water, a quick dip in a river, lake or pond was required. Not only was it imperative to clean one's own person, but the entire house and everything in it – windows, stoves, walls, clothes – needed to be in pristine condition. This tradition is still alive in some cultures and households.
  • Osterfeuer, or Easter bonfires (Northern Germany) - Easter Fires are lit around sunset on Holy Saturday. The Saxons believed that around the time of Easter, Spring becomes victorious over Winter. The fires were supposed to help chase the darkness and winter away.
  • Irish Cake dance - The cake dance is a competitive Irish Easter tradition that dates back to medieval times but is probably much older. On Easter Sunday, people have a dance-off and the winner takes the cake, literally.
  • Fly kites in Bermuda. Every Good Friday, Bermudians of all ages fly kites, usually of traditional Bermudian type (though plastic, store-bought kites have made inroads), which are flown to symbolize Christ's resurrection.
  • Egg tapping is a traditional Easter game. The rules of the game are simple. One holds a hard-boiled egg and taps the egg of another participant with one's own egg intending to break the other's, without breaking one's own.
  • Egg - rolling - is a traditional game played with eggs at Easter. Different nations have different versions of the game, usually played with hard-boiled, decorated eggs.
  • Egg hunt. An egg hunt is a treasure hunt played at Easter during which children look for hidden decorated eggs. The game is often played outdoors, but can also be played indoors. The children typically collect the eggs in a basket. When the hunt is over, prizes may be given out for various achievements, such as the largest number of eggs collected, for the largest or smallest egg, for the most eggs of a specific color.
