Going for a training course, is it really something for me?

You are thinking about doing a training course? You are not sure, whether you are on the right track with this idea? This activity will help you to find an answer to those questions.

In the previous activity you were able to explore what an international training course is about, to whom it is targeted and what is the general concept for it. Surely there are also formal criteria, such as the minimum age (depending on the project and funding programme) and country of residence or even your profession. Speaking about ERASMUS+ supported training courses as youth workers mobilities, we face a minimum age of 18 years, a residency in the programme countries and usually the involvement in the filed of youth work. Especially the last part is sometimes understood sometimes really precise but often also more vague depending on the particular training course: It lasts from the clear target group addressing certain youth workers only, to a wide target group, enabling everybody to participate who is working with young people, working for young people, linked to a youth organization or is somehow connected to young people and can transfer the learning outcomes.

Do you identify yourself in this?
Great, then speaking about the formal criteria, you are ready to go. But what about the rest? Well this you have to find out yourself. We recommend to do the following steps to do so:

1. Check out this recap of a concrete training course example!
Watch this video from Lisa who is telling in a recap about her experience in an ERASMUS+ training course. She is sharing all details, from the structure of the training course, the activities she did and surely also her individual learning experience and feedback to it.

2. Do the self check-up!
We have prepared a small self check-up in this activity. Go for it and try it out:
Click through the questions in this link.
This test might answer some of your questions as well. But don´t worry. No matter how you answer the questions, in the end you alone know what´s best for you!

And now?
Use this sources to evaluate. Do you feel that a training course could be something for you? Are you willing to go for this experience?

The next activities in this playlist will help you to learn where and how you can apply for those activities.
