Welcome to the "Habit 4: Think Win-Win & Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood" Activity!
Through this activity, you’ll reflect and explore the learning of two powerful habits from Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that will transform how you build relationships and communicate effectively.
Habit 4 – Think Win-Win is about developing a mindset of mutual benefit in your interactions with others. You will better understand how to create positive outcomes where both parties feel valued and successful, fostering cooperation and collaboration.
Habit 5 – Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood emphasises the importance of authentic listening. You'll practise listening deeply to others before expressing your own viewpoint, building trust and enhancing communication.
Together, these habits will help you form stronger, more productive relationships based on mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration. Start learning how to create more meaningful and positive interactions now!

The owner of this badge has completed the required 4 tasks for Win-Win and Seeking first to understand then to be understood that include: 
- Reflecting and identifying the learning from the Prisoner’s Dilemma
- Shared an example of when they have personally manoeuvre a situation to the position of ‘win-win’
- Reflecting and identifying the learning from the PDCA card game 
- Shared personal stories of experiences that demonstrate the importance of ‘seeking first to understand and then to be understood’ and identified ways in which ‘authentic curiosity’ can be demonstrated
The holder of this badge has worked independently to research, reflect and share their findings. The evidence provided for each task shows how the holder worked on these topics.Completing these four tasks means they have successfully worked to gain the Win-Win and Seeking first to understand then to be understood badge and are now half way towards achieving the overall Operation Odyssey - Module 1 - Pathways to Effective Living badge.
