No Borders, More Opportunities: Exploring Freedom of Movement in the EU
Activity Description:
This self-paced activity introduces young people to the Freedom of Movement Right of the European Union and implemented through the Schengen Agreement.
Participants will:
🗺 Learn what the Schengen Area is and which countries are part of it
✈️ Explore how border-free travel works and how it impacts daily life, from tourism to education and employment
📍 Participate in reflective questions that show how this right strengthens unity, cooperation, and economic growth
💬 Reflect on the benefits and challenges of open borders in a European context
This activity helps youth (ages 15–30) understand how one of the most tangible EU rights directly connects with their personal freedoms and opportunities — and why it's worth protecting.
