This activity certifies the completion of the online course entitled ‘Seeing the Invisible: power, privilege and everyday realities’, in the platform KVAK.
It demonstrates that you worked on the following topics:
- Introduction to concepts as power, privilege, stereotypes, discrimination, exclusion and identity — and how they shape everyday experiences.
- Reflecting on non-verbal communication and body language.
- Facilitating activities with youth groups currently experiencing vulnerabilities while keeping safe and inclusive spaces.
- Forum theatre as a pedagogical tool in youth work.
- Interactive tools as “Privilege of Walk” dynamic and “Power Flower”.
Participants are able to:
- understand concepts as power, privilege, stereotypes, discrimination, exclusion and identity — and identify how they shape everyday experiences.
- reflect on how unequal conditions, access, and rights can affect people differently, and how it can influence participation and inclusion in youth work and society.
- analyse behaviours and non verbal communication of citizens in a the specific discrimination situation such as manspreading.
- consider how to facilitate discussions regarding the concepts indicated previously safely and effectively with young people.
- understand how forum theater can be used as a pedagogical tool (how can help youth reflect on power dynamics, question assumptions, and rehearse alternative actions in a safe and supportive environment).
- understand how “Privilege of Walk” dynamic and “Power Flower” tool can be used.
The activity was developed inside the project KVAK - Efficient, inclusive, engaging and constructive feedback in youth work. Nexes Interculturals is the entity that created and manages this activity.
